Philosophy in the Wild is a project co-founded by Maja Sidzinska, Zach Agoff, and me, and currently run by Maja, Arthur Obst, Linde De Vroey, and me. It is dedicated to exploring the ways philosophy can look when it is taken out of its technologized built environment.

We host an annual outdoor conference where participants camp for two to three nights and present work in environmental philosophy. In 2026 we are running two events; the first is in Wisconsin with keynote speakers Anahkwet (Guy Reiter) and Cynthia Belmont. The CFA can be found here. The CFA for the second event, to be held outside of Philadelphia, is forthcoming.

Past keynote speakers include Blake Francis, Karen Kovaka, Brendan Cline, Romy Opperman, and Ryan Johnson.

We also have an ongoing collaboration with the Public Philosophy Journal that can be freely accessed here.
